Erin Kilkenny is a community advocate dedicated to inclusion within the non-profit and social movement space.
She entered into this work by creating the free 'Dance Camp for All,' where she used her dance and advocacy background to remove barriers to dance. This passion for inclusivity continued at the University of New Hampshire, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation and Sustainability, focusing on community planning and economics. They collaborated with students, faculty, and administration to ensure equitable disability accommodations for all students while researching new ways to expand diversity at UNH.
While earning her degree, she gained experience in the non-profit sector as a nature educator, grants facilitator, and civic organizer. Erin began their career as a nature educator with the Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capital non-profit and continued their time with them in grant administration. She developed skills in grant facilitation through the management of the Claude Moore Mindfulness in Nature Grant and taught over 1,000 young people nature-based skills. Lastly, Erin has developed a network of legislative and non-profit connections through affordable housing and community organizing with the New Hampshire Youth Movement non-profit.
Most recently, Erin worked with the New Hampshire Youth Movement to commit 9,000 students and community members to vote within the 2024 NH Governor's race resulting in record young voter turn-out . This experience was formative in her nonprofit development and harnessed the communication and organizing skills vital to engaging new stakeholders and donors.
